Simply have them sit down and lean forward while pinching their nostrils together for a few minutes until the bleeding stops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In most cases that is all the treatment they will require. However, you should seek immediate medical attention if your child is experiencing any of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Bleeding that lasts longer than 30 minutes<\/li><li>Heavy bleeding<\/li><li>Feeling dizzy or weak<\/li><li>Swallowing lots of blood<\/li><li>Having difficulty breathing<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uofmhealth.org\/health-library\/sig56370#:~:text=Nosebleeds%20that%20recur%20often%20are,or%20caused%20by%20an%20injury\">nosebleed that recurs four times or more in a week<\/a> requires an evaluation by a medical provider to determine the cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is it Possible to Prevent Nosebleeds?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Preventing nosebleeds often depends on what is causing them in the first place. A few prevention methods include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Encouraging your child to avoid picking at their nose.<\/li><li>Treating their allergies and avoiding triggers when possible.
